Squidoo is like a huge websites where users (called lensmasters) create the pages (call lenses). Anyone can sign up and and write a one page website on just about any subject. Squidoo is very user friendly and you can create how many lenses you want.

According to me the best way to get back links is blog posting. If you post good information on high page rank blog sites such as wordpress, blogger etc you get many back links to your site.

Google Page rank is based on back links. Back links are Links pointing to your website from another website. The more back links you have the higher your PR will be.
Join forums, forums are a great way to achieve links to your website. In most forums you are allowed to have a signature and in your signature you can put a link to your website. But another important note to look on is making sure the forum is somewhat related to your website. You will still get credit if it's not, but if it's related to your website than you will be accomplishing two tasks at once.
You will be advertising for your website (bringing in targeted traffic) You will also be building your websites presence.
Your websites presence is very important to your survival. The more people see, or hear about your website the more credibility you will have and this increases your chances of having these visitors come back and possibly become leads.

Yes, I agree with all above discussions and also Having good content on your Web site. Simple.

Whatever methods you try, you're not going to get back-links without having quality content.

If you believe you have the good content, and it's a blog you're trying to promote, you may want to try linking to other blogs and Web sites. Hand out a favour to them, and they will hand one back.

to provide useful info means a lot here, if you have a good content the visitors will stay with you, and if not, it doesn't matter how many visitors you have, they just close it at once.
