form validation

Building a form where the customer is taking credit card info, but not processing it right away. The CC info is stored securely until they go grab it. I am having issues when the customer opens up excel to pull down the info the credit card info cell is in exponential format, i need to know if there is a way to require the format ex 1234-5678-9123-1234 rather than 1234567891231234
