Talking kRemtronicz New Design

Hello there friends,

I have been working really hard to finish my website, and I would like you guys to give me a hand with your important opinion. The site was a mess before since it didn't convey the message for what I really do. However, this time things look completely different.

What's your opinion? And, how much would you charge to build something like this?

Keep in mind that it is NOT finished--yet.

Take care,

kRem

Its a nice clean site. Not very creative, but I think your trying to convey a professional message. I like the animated icons on the home page. The navigation is well thought out. The user log in is cool. How did you make the membership and login? And how do you do the animated subheader on the home page?

For design and implementation I would charge $1000 to $1500 depending on other factors. The design is clean so thats a plus.

Hey there,

You are right on everything. It is a clean site, it isn't a fancy site like you say, the animated icons were well thought out, etc.

Everything was made with Joomla! CMS, and the rest was made with professional templates.

I believe the future of web design is not in programs like Dreamweaver, but in software such as this one, WordPress, and Drupal. Also, you can use DW to compliment what you want to do.

Let me know what you think, and thank you very much!

Well, there's a difference between design & content management. A CMS is just a tool for easily updating a site, while DW is a tool for the actual design. After all, someone has to develop the templates y'all love so much

Hey there,

I LOVED your response. You really nailed it with that. In my response I actually say that you complement Joomla! with DW; I should have add the fact that templates need to be worked on a program like DW!

Man, thank you very much.

Take care!

I like your scrolling menu. It gives a good understanding of the services you offer . Though your logo doesn't look nice to me. I would choose another font for it so it would be more readable.

Hey!

Yes, the scrolling menu is pretty cool. I thought a lot of people would like it. Moreover, it does a good job explaining what I do for sure.

The font you talk about has been the subject of debate. Some like it, some don't. I also believe that near in the future I will be changing it. Also, I had a problem with number "4" with the font that simply put, people didn't even know it was a 4.

Anyhow, I really appreciate your time and honesty! The site has been built based on what people tell me, so your opinion counts a lot too!

i think people should learn DW and XHTML/CSS before they offer web design services. In reality you will only be able to give people templates that you find, because you don't know how to design your own. CMS will never replace DW or programs like that because a CMS just adds dynamic content to the site. The visual appearance and structure are created by CSS/HTML or invalid tables.

You are 1000% right about that my friend. I do know CSS and XHTML as well (not an expert though). I learned when I went to multimedia school, and there's where I got my training. However, Joomla! simply makes everything faster sometimes. I work with a couple of designers that have been in business since the 80's, and these guys work with Joomla! every chance they have. I wonder why! They have made NBA websites and stuff really amazing when combining all these elements.

Anyhow, it is a personal preference and without knowledge of CSS or XHTML, working with Joomla! or even WordPress is simply an incomplete task.

Thank you very much!

I'm getting a horizontal scroll when I view in FF. Is that intentional?
