Keyword Stuffing Cloaking Invisible Text Doorway Pages Selling PageRank These are things that search engines, particularly Google frown upon. They can get you penalties or just outright removed from the index, and it's really hard to get back in. But as with anything, there are lots of "gray" areas. If you have SEO clients it certainly isn't worth it to run the risk of losing them because of bad or uninformed practice. You can certainly push the envelope, but you better know exactly what your doing and be ready to accept the possible consequences. There are too many "good" and effective strategies around to gamble with your client's rankings and your income. |

The way I understand black hat seo, is that it is a set of techniques that may get you listed above others in sneaky or illegitimate ways. These methods usually only lead to you getting removed from search results once the search engine catches on to your methodology.
