First thing you should do is edit your previous post and replace some of the character in the google file name with xxx I am not sure what the security risk might be but I reckon you can never be too careful.
When I tried to look for that file it does not exist on your server. Are you sure you have transferred it into the correct directory ? Currently you are trying putting a link to the file your page this is incorrect. If you go to the google webmasters page and choose "Use A meta tag" as your verification method it will supply you with a piece of text something like this. This is what you'll need to include on you site: <meta name="verify-v1" content="You Must Use the Number Google Supplies" /> My advice is to try verifying with the meta tag method first and if that fails then try transferring the file. Let me know how you go, JC |

Yea, when I try the meta tag it basically say's google WAS able to find the meta tag-but it was in the wrong place...and believe me it's not due to lack of trying. This is what I did, added a module for html and pasted the meta name in it. Came back 'unable to verify, meta tag was found but not in right place'....so I moved the module around, and around. I don't think I'm even close, probably something soo simple that I am missing. Obviously a rookie.

I have had a quick look at the webjam site builder. From what I can see it doesn't let you do what you are trying to do. It probably won't let you transfer the verification file either. At this stage your best bet is to contact them directy, explain what you are trying to do and see if they can help you...

Great article pshukla, I think this will help many people as SEO practices has evolved with the ever growing precense of websites on the internet.
One other thing I would like to mention is use your keywords in your page URLs (doucument/page names). This is huge. It can make a profound difference in your ranking. You will be surprised. For example: The site is about wine. You have a page dedicated to red wines in California. Your keywords might be: red wine, California wine, Malbec, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Merlot, vintage, etc. The document name for this page should not just be: "http://www.ExampleWineSite.com/red-wines.html" Is should be more keyword rich, like this: "http://www.ExampleWineSite.com/california-red-wines-malbec-cabernet-merlot-pinot-noir.html" Of course this is not a guarantee, but nothing is in the world of natural search. Using this practice in conjunction with the ones pshukla mentioned can really make a diffrence in SERP. Good luck. |
