Hey everyone!
Just wanting to get a second opinion on this:

From another forum people were saying:

Why are you using tables for layout? Tables are for tabular data, this is not 1990s, DIV and CSS is your new friend for today.
Why are you not keeping content separate from layout by using CSS to display background and layout images ?
Width and Height for images should not really be used to resize your images, those attributes are simply to tell the browser the size of the image that is going to be loaded so that it can create the correct space for it.

I'd like to see some tutorials because this is new to me.

You need actual CONTENT to design your site.
I see SO many people start designing a website, using lorem ipsum, and by the time you need to add real content, all you have is big empty white squares to fill in with boring paragraphs of text.
What I'm saying is, website design is as much about typography and layout as it is coding and photoshopping.
You need to know what information you want to display so that you can design around it, and make it an actual DESIGN.
Right now you have pretty pictures wrapping around a big long boring column of white rectangle, which doesn't give you any creative space to do interesting things with the typography, or any "Advanced" design techniques.
So, kill the lorem ipsum, get a copywriter and make some freaking content.
You can't build/design a site without content, otherwise it will just end up looking like a newspaper..... all boring paragraphs of text, one headline style, and that is all.

Does anyone have some examples of some advanced design techniques?
Also, if I wanted to have an RSS feed on my page, how would I go about doing that? I'm looking (if necessary) for a program which can generate the feeds, but I'm not sure if I need just RSS 2.0 or ones like RSS 0.9.2 or ATOM.
If anyone would be kind to talk me through a few things you can add me on msn -
tech.lawson@msn.com.
Thanks,
David
