seo is search engine optimizing, if you search one keywords, search engine shows all of related sites, all webmaster trying to place their web site in top 10 , so for they are using keyword optimizing, example seo are google, yahoo, msn like the

yeah, seo has a lot to do with the keywords you add to your site. you want a high keyword density (around 7%) in order for the search engines to pick you up and consider your site legitimate.

Shouldn't an "internet marketing agency" know the answer to this already?

A key factor to improving your web site's page rank/searchability is to find keywords that are not oversaturated but still target your industry.

I have found that keyword density is very important but more specifically WHERE you add your keywords. Page content is going to be the obvious one, also consider the ALT tags on any of your images, never leave them blank if that image pertains to what your selling/advertising. Also using them in your TITLE tags and URLs is very powerful. Keep in mind that achieving a top rank in a large market is very tough. Hence, why there are PPC campaigns and search engine marketing agencies!

I don't want to discourage you though, it's a battle I have been tackling for the last year or so with my company's Web site.
