How to make a website intro

I am working on a website with a wordpress theme and I have a cool video that I want to have popup when you visit the website, or I want to just create a separate intro page with the video. I don't want it to popup every time a person visits the home page, just the first time they get on the website. My question is, how do I do this?

Using built -in FTP it is possible to add video without using pop-up blockers.

If you are using a wordpress, then there are plugins where you can get a popup on first visit. I'm not sure which one you need exactly, if you google "wordpress popup plugin", you should find a bunch.

I'm sure there's a plug-in on that matter. But I also believe the 1st suggestion would be great as well.
