Default becoming fluent in code

I'm in the process of learning code and having trouble becoming fluent in it. So I'm wondering...what does everybody do to help become fluent in code. Practice tips/ hints to learning etc. would be great.

*note: Mods if I put this in the wrong section, feel free to move it. I felt like this was more of an off-topic discussion.

Write code...a lot. Read about code...a lot. Rewrite the code you read about...a lot.

Default Learning Code

You need a project that forces you into learning the code otherwise it's all a bit aimless. Find someone who wants something for free and then set about building it - beware though that they may not want it in the end.

Practice as much as you can. Type the codes as much as you can then you will be familiar with the codes.
