I hope any1 can help me with my problem
I tried to download my web files with FTP. It takes a long time (about one complete day). Suddenly, it stopped downloading. I tried to open my website, but it doesnt accept. the browser gives me:

Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact your network support team.

Is Ftp downloading is the cause for this problem? How can I solve it?

Sounds like a shithouse server, or a shithouse connection to the net at your house.
Unless your site is like 100gb of data it should not ever take that long to download.
In any case ftp is not the issue.
You've probably downloaded too much porn and your speed is back to good ol dialup...

my connection is slow
my download stopped at 171 mb on my computer.
The site doesn't have any porn files.

What can I do to solve this problem

Solution?
Try a faster net connection.library, uni, work, etc...
171mb / half hr tops.
If it still hangs, try and skip the offending file...

Absolution

I had a problem with one of my FTP programs which would give similar problems. You can give FileZilla a try and see if it helps.
