Question Review my site please?...

Sorry for the double posting, but I realized that no one wanted to read a post titled "artfulme.net | v2.2!". It looks like advertising... So, I'm just curious as to what you guys think of artfulme.net.

I'm a new web designer, and I thought I should try and have a website allowing users to view my work and what not. Please note that it's not entirely finished yet. Thanks in advance everyone.

the kerning in the logo is a bit off - look at the amount of space between the 'a' and 'r' at the beginning

the spectrum is quite nice but the reflected colours look a bit muddy

move your styles to an external stylesheet

don't use pts for screen (only for print) use ems or %s (or px if you must)

main text is too bold - leave it in a normal weight and increase the line height a little

resize your own photo in a graphics editor
optimise the slideshow images - they're way to big and don't finish loading before the next slide comes in

slideshow container is pixellated - check that it's antialised in whatever programme you're using

don't underline text that isn't a link

don't use tables for layout - use the natural document flow e.g. divs where appropriate

are you sure you feel confident in hosting people's sites on your own computer?!

a good start though for someone so new!

I believe you can do better on your font face, and the color too. As well as the back ground!

Default Not to affend, but

get that picture of yourself off the site.

The reasons are countless, but the most legit one might be that people don't want to invest money with kids. You look young, use that to your advantage later in life, not to your disadvantage now.

Also, like dude said, don't host sites on your own server, puts all the liability on you.

bluehost.com is running a good special right now, I have over 13 sites on one account through them, cost me about 80 a year and their current special is nearly half that.

Then, since you appear to be new at this, google 'wordpress tutorials', or any other CMS and get started in the right path early on.

Try rounding the corners off, or doing something to draw attention away from the edges. The slideshow should be highlighted more, people would rather look at pictures of your previous work before they read any text. You should also slow down the slideshow and put links on them so people can visit the sites you created.

Your pictures are taking awhile load in the slideshow. I like the spectrum but I agree with the reflection looking a little muddy
