Default IE10 will be HTML5 friendly?

We might be on the verge of an IE that is standards compliant? Maybe the end of the world is near, after all..

Yeah that's great and all but you'll need to have windows 8 to run it. :-)

Some how i dont think IE will EVER be standards compliant, sure they'll display html5 but what about css3 they'll probably forget that. IMHO I think the need to just scrap IE and make firefox the default browsers for windows systems, then they wouldnt hear any complaints

That's what MS said about IE7, 8 and 9. 9 is still missing half the stuff FF and Chrome have been supporting for years. MS needs to face it, IE will always suck and will always be behind everyone else. Why? Because they're still bent on setting standards instead of supporting them.

Difference is, currently they are losing market share at a prodigious rate, which is probably having a humbling effect in their management offices

Not a bad suggestion...but FF is a memory hog. Don't get me wrong its my go to browser 90% of the time, but firebug is quite demanding.

I've been having issues with IE9 to be honest. Sadly, the best way to solve the issues is to edit the htaccess file to make the site render as if it were IE8.

As far as i know IE10 will be completely integrated in Windows 8 (the 'motor' of the OS). It is very much html5 driven. If it will be standards compliant will remain the question. I have good hopes.
