Thumbs up Windows Internet Explorer 9 - Overview

For years Windows has been slated for their inability to produce a Web Browser that competes with Firefox, and Apple’s Safari. However Internet Explorer 9 just might beat them all.

IE9 harnesses the power of your whole computer, displaying websites with stunning precision. IE9 utilizes your computer’s full capabilities, displaying graphically rich content faster than ever before.

With IE9’s new smooth interface, users can browse the web with a pristine browser that integrates perfectly with Windows 7. An array of new built-in security, privacy, and reliability features, allow us to feel comforted by a more secure online environment.

Internet Explorer 9 - What's new:

· Smooth design

· Pinned Sites

· Download Manager

· Enhanced tabs

· New Tab page

· Search in the address bar

· Notification Bar

· Add-on Performance Advisor

· Hardware acceleration

· Tracking Protection

· ActiveX Filtering

From what I've read it does support border-radius but you need to declare an extra meta tag

Code:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9" />
HERE is all the different browsers CSS compatibility straight from Microsoft

and THIS explains the meta tag

it's got a long way to go to make up for all the people/businesses tied into old versions of IE (read IE6), AND it's not available for xp users and below.

it wouldn't even install on my vista machine - although i only wanted it for testing so sticking with IE9 in IE tester, thanks very much.

incidentally firefox 4 came out today/yesterday

Yeah.. it is a bit annoying that win7 is required for IE9. It certainly will hurt the market for it and will take ages for the css3/html5 standard to get up to speed.

btw.. I thought Microsoft was sued for integrating IE too much into the OS previously :-)

just because they've made one browser that "might" come close to being standards compliant does not mean that it will even compete with the other players. IE is so far behind right now that the only way they'll even get close is to steal the webkit code and market it as IE10.

seriously. you cannot polish a turd.

also no mac support, no linux support, no XP support??? sorry it just cannot compete.

and the size of it...its ****ing massive!

I dont like the way you cant see the full page name (title tags) as when you are doing SEO its nice to see whats there immediately.
