Default Recommendation on animation software ?

Hi everyone,

combining a welcome and a question at the same time

I have worked with Photoshop for a long time, doing mostly Image manipulation or any design works. A friend asked me to join in for a web design business, so I wanted to get more serious about this.

At the moment, my main focus would be to learn more about small animations for websites. As I am new to animation, my question is what software do you recommend to start off with ?
I am not intending to make any big movies or whatsoever, it's really just for websites, so rather simple. I would consider both, free software and commercial ones.

I appreciate your comments

Cheers !

I bought Amara's package some time ago and found that very simple and easy
to use. I tried them all out first. I also tried Swish Max first and
couldn't figure it out!
