Another IE Div Alignment Problem

My main content divs are not sizing properly in IE. I know this is a common problem but I have been unable to find the common solution.

I've tried wrapping the content divs in their own div and adjusting width, margins, etc....but no luck. I've since removed the ineffective divs.

My site is built in Wordpress which allows me to easily enter CSS code into a IE style sheet.

The site looks fine in Chrome, FF, Safari.

Thanks to anyone willing and able to offer a helpful suggestion.

I'm guessing IE version 6 or 7?

In IE 8 and up it looks as it does in FF and Chrome.

That's correct. I managed to get it to look ok in IE8. Any suggestions about how to fix for IE6 & IE7?

Thanks, the div parameters have been altered somewhat as I'm still trying to get this to work across the major browsers. I had a border line separating each content div. They've since been removed, but I'd like to put them back in. I'd also like the left content border to be the same as the "Post A Job" link at the top of the page. Thanks for any help you're able to provide.

Looking at your layout...why don't you just have the "more" buttons at the bottom of each section? why try to line up new divs with just a link a button in them? I think you are just making it harder on yourself.

I don't disagree...that was partly an effort to shorten the length of the border line between the three content divs. It just looked a little better, but not to a degree that I wouldn't make it easy on myself and do as you suggested.

The more buttons are not my main problem, however. I need to find a way to get the three main content divs to line up properly in all the major browsers. At this point, I've gotten it to look okay in FF, Chrome, Safari and IE8.

But the three content divs won't line up properly in the other browsers. I'm at the stage where I'm pulling my hair out.

I'm not the most experienced designer...if you've got any ideas or approaches I can take...they'll be well-received and appreciated.

I am not seeing this problem with the alignment? I have looked in IE7 and IE8 and i mentioned the differences i saw ("More" buttons)...but that is about it.

Can you add a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Just checked in IE6...same thing no real alignment issue? You do have script errors which could be causing some problems with IE.

Thanks so much for checking in...

I've included a current screen shot that shows the current state of the site. It has been modified since I first posted, but I've yet to achieve a solution.

If you look at the image, you'll notice the three main content divs in the center of the site (which include the pictures and text for counseling, support and networking) are floating to the left. The more buttons are spread out and out of place but they're in a separate div and not my immediate concern.

Anyway...when I try to add code to spread the divs across the page within define margins, the divs look fine in Chrome, Safari, FF and IE8.

In IE6 (and perhaps IE7) the divs spread out too wide, causing the networking div to drop below the counseling and support divs.

I'm using Wordpress and can edit an IE7.css file, but I can't seem to find the right dimensions to pull the networking div back into place.

As for the more buttons, I can move them into the three content divs. I took them out because I want to have a border line separating the three divs. It looked better when the more buttons fell below the content divs. This made the line shorter...not so apparent.

Don't know if you can help...but even if you're able to suggest an approach..I'll take it. I've kind of tried to start over...but I don't know exactly what I can change to end up with the same problem.

The divs were originally put into a table by another programmer. I've removed the table, but perhaps some code still remains. Don't know if they might be causing the problem.

I've also recently loaded a javascript image carousel onto my site to hold advertisements. It's not styled yet, because I'm noticing it's not allowing the image window below the social media icons to load. It's an issue not relevant to this thread, but a problem nonetheless.
