It depends what country you are in and what country you ultimately what country the site is for and what country you need the site to be indexed for?
eg, an australian website will do well for seo to be hosted by an australian company who furthermore has their servers located in Australia!! that is very important as often companies claim to be of a certain nationality whilst there servers are located elsewhere. This is extremely common in countries throughout Europe. Having said all that, i find any host which provides cPanel to be fantastic for a number of reasons. The application servers can handle a number of technologies, whilst the interface itself is simply amazing. One click installations for any application!!
