Seriously, I've spent hours upon hours on the computer lately. I'm beginning to wonder what my chances of hurting myself this way are, and if anyone knows some good ways a web-designer can minimize their risks of something like this happening. Maybe some good exercises or something?

Then I'm guessing you haven't heard of carpal tunnel. It's a disorder that can be caused by a lot of things apparently (I don't know that much about it), but I have heard of people getting it from doing a lot of things too repetitively, such as playing guitar, or using the computer keyboard and mouse A LOT.
It causes numbness and pain in the wrists, and hands, and weakness in those areas. So I was just wondering if someone knows good ways to prevent it from developing, or if it's really even actually a big risk for someone that uses the computer a lot (such as a web designer). |
